Nyiah our little swimmer!!

We are busy in the swing of things again!!

Nyiah is loving Swim Team and doing really well! She has been in 3 meets and has shaved 2-3 seconds off some of her times! She does especially well in the back stroke! She has another meet this Saturday in Sioux Center! Here are some fun shots of her at her first meet! Fun Fun!

We got to take family pictures last weekend and got a few good ones! It was a bit of work! We are all doing good with lots of work, school and events. Nyiah has her first Swim meet this weekend and Sha has her last Volleyball game this week. Syd is starting Hockey and Taya is loving Kindergarten. Makai is of course keeping us on our toes, talking, running and being a little stinker!!

We are back into the swing of things here and having fun going to the girls' activities again! Sha is enjoying volleyball...

Here is Syd(the one with the blue undershirt, carrying the ball!) She is lovin evey minute of playing football!

Nyiah starts dance, tap and jazz class this week and is ready to go!!

Taya is ok with being the tag along to all the activities!

And Makai just celebrated his 4 month birthday!! He too is getting used to being hauled around...as long as we take the food with!!

Finally an update!!! We are all doing good and enjoying getting back to school and sports! Sha is busy in 8th grade...last year till High School! Augh! Syd is busy playing football and enjoying 3rd grade! Nyiah couldn't wait until school started she loves 1st grade so far and Taya and Makai are loving making friends at daycare! (Tim and I are doing good too!!)

Just wanted to say a big thank you for all your prayers and support for our family during all our surgeries! We are all healing well and looking forward to feeling good at Christmas time! We are so thankful to have such wonderful and supportive family and friends!

Just wanted to ask for prayer for our family as Nyiah Grace and Taya Joy go in for surgery to remove their tonsils on Friday, November 21st in Sioux Center. Also for prayer for me(Kristi) as I have sinus surgery on Tuesday, November 25th up in Sioux Falls. We appreciate the prayers so much and ask for God's healing and patience for Tim and the older girls as they deal with our sick house!

It's sports season at the Gesink house again! Basketball is in full swing for Sha as she has tournaments and practices with dad as her coach!

Syd is loving hockey too, you would never guess she was injured last year!

Nyiah and Taya started gymnastics this month and are enjoying it very much!! Nyiah is working on her cart-wheels and climbing the rope!

Taya also likes gymnastics, but she is being kind of a stinker there when she is waiting for her turn! She is trying to do somersaults and hanging from the bar. What she needs to work on is paying attention!!

We have a new addition to our family!

Introducing Ozzie Rosco Gesink, Sydney's new dog.

We went last weekend to go pick her up from Wisconsin, the girls were counting down the days! He is actually pretty calm (a first for an animal at the Gesink house)and the girls of course, love him lots. Tim doesn't mind having another male in the house either!!

Nyiah of course wanted to take Ozzie's sister home!

Softball Season Arrives

Let it rip!! Sha had fun pitching Saturday!

The Softball season has officially arrived at the Gesink's house! Sha has been working outside on her pitching almost everyday. They had their first tournament in Spencer on Saturday! She pitched some, caught some and played short stop too. They had a fun day and got 4th place. Sha was kinda disappointed they didn't do better, but maybe this weekend in Sibley they can win a few more!

Syd makes an attempt at enjoying softball, while asking the question,"Dad, when does soccer season start again?" She doesn't enjoy sitting and being patient waiting her turn to bat and catch the ball. "I like soccer better,"she says.

Gesink Team Big Announcement! Player added to Roster!

That is right we are adding another player to our family roster! We are looking to fill this jersey with a new player. And this time the player will not have the option to wear pink or purple! Nope this player will only be allowed to wear blue! We are excited to announce we are adopting!!

Our family is so excited to share our news with you! We have been praying and thinking about adopting for a lot of years now and know God is showing us it is the right time. Through a lot of our prayers and research God brought us the agency New Horizons located in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Through this agency we are looking into adopting from the United States or Liberia. We begun the process about 4 months ago and we are now getting to the end (we hope) of most of the paper work and will be starting home visits and interviews soon. We ask for your prayers during this exciting time, for God's guidance and for God to bring us the little boy we have been praying about. We really have felt God has a little boy out there just waiting to be adopted into our family (little does he know what he is in for with all these girls!) We will be updating our Blog a lot with info on how the process is going and what step we are going through. And post prayer requests as we continue on this journey! We pray you will all be as excited for this adoption as we are and that we can rejoice together when we bring our little guy home!!

Shalee had fun marching in the Tulip Festival Parade! They worked very hard and she did a great job!!

She also had fun hanging out with her friends there afterwards!

6th Grade State Volleyball Tourney!

Shalee and her volleyball team qualified for the state tournament so the last weekend in March we headed for Marshalltown, Iowa! The girls played hard and had a positive experience.

Shalee's team played well, but unfortunetly they didn't make it into the Gold Tournament that afternoon.

Monday night at Hockey practice Sydney got injured. She was skating fast and her skate hit a crack, she ran right into one of her coaches. He wasn't ready for fall and landed right on her legs and pelvis. We took her to the emergency room where Xrays showed she had 2 cracks in her pelvis bone. She is bruised and beat up but for the most part doing ok.

Today we met with the orthopedic surgeon. He went over the Xrays with us and told us where we need to go from here. Syd needs to use crutches for 3 weeks. No running, jumping, P.E. at school and definetly no hockey for the rest of the season. She was pretty bummed about that but we are thankful it is not any worse. She is getting more used to her crutches all the time and has even swung them at her dad a time or two.

Shalee had a tournament in Orange City this weekend. Her team took 2nd Place!! They played really well as a team and it was an exciting tournament!!

Sydney had a tournament this weekend in Luverne. She got to play with the Mini Mite team. She was so excited she made her first goal of the year and then she made 5 more! She was so thrilled!!

Syd was pretty excited they won all their games this weekend on the Mini Mite Team. Every time they made a goal they waved their sticks in the air. Syd is right in the front with black and white tape on her stick end!

Introducing numero uno our Sha. She's preteen and the busiest of all the team members. She bounces from Basketball to Volleyball and back again!! Trying to keep up with her makes the other Team Gesink players exhausted!!

Now, let's introduce Syd the Kid, our team's secret weapon. She's pretty versatile, going back and forth from Hockey to Soccer to Softball and willing to play any position. (As long as it's not too girly!)

Nope, I know you are surprised but Nyiah does not have time to actually play on the team...she is too busy being our cheerleader. (It takes her awhile to pick out her uniform!)
